Psychology and Email Marketing: Images

  11/12/2018

They say that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” You may not have realized that this is a psychological fact, not simply an observation. The human brain is powerful and is able to extract deep meaning out of images. Images provoke emotional responses. Most customers that you involve in your email marketing campaigns will simply skim through your emails to find what they’re looking for. They’ll pay little attention to the small details and will look for specific keywords. Including images in your campaigns can change all of this.

In your emails, it’s important that you strategically include images if you want them to trigger a psychological emotional response. You can’t use just any images. These images need to be positive, uplifting, and captivating. Place these images throughout your emails, but also include one towards the end of your email next to your call to action button. When you offer your email recipients a way to connect with you while they are emotional, they’re more likely to do so.
