Creating the Perfect Welcome Email: Expectations

  05/14/2018

In tandem with your introduction should be what your subscribers can expect from your emails. If someone has chosen to add themselves to your subscription list, then they have given you permission to take up space in their inbox. It’s up to you to make the best use of this space by filling it with important content. However, many companies simply send their subscribers spam emails that aren’t always relevant. Your subscribers need to know that your company is different so they can look forward to opening your emails. In your “welcome email,” you should clearly state the following:

  • What kind of content your subscribers can expect
  • How often your subscribers can expect to receive emails from you
  • Why the emails will be important to your subscribers
  • The content of your “welcome email” is incredibly important. Not only should you state what your subscribers can expect, but you should also give them a sneak peak of the kind of content they will be receiving on a regular basis. Include links in the “welcome email” to some of your best content. It’s also not a bad idea to use the “welcome email” to educate subscribers on how to navigate your company’s website, blog, products and services.
